"GOT TORKLIFT?"
Gary Engerbetsen from Sedro Woolley, Washington is certainly glad he does. He sent us these photos and a BIG THANK YOU for the quality and strength engineered into the TorkLift True frame mount camper tiedown system and the lever action FastGun turnbuckles. On a recent hunting trip, a soft dirt shoulder gave out from under his Duramax Chevy PU and camper, sending him on the white knuckle ride you see here. Gary, undaunted (being a hardcore sportsman and having drawn a once in a life time sheep tag), left the truck and camper and continued on to hunt with his son in another truck. As you can see from the pictures, the tiedown system held strong, even in this outrageous event.
The two tow trucks required to right the inverted rig actually used the camper as leverage (middle photo) to roll the RV right side up. Even in these ultra extreme conditions, the TorkLift system and FastGuns held strong without causing any additional damage to the truck’s body or frame. While both truck and camper were a loss, Gary is proud to say he is using the same set of FastGuns on his new truck, and that the tiedowns were replaced with a new Torklift system as they wouldn't fit the new truck.
Gary Engerbetsen is a believer in TorkLift products.
Send us your TorkLift pictures and stories - we'd love to hear from you!
Other Testimonials:
"We like them... Adjust them the right length the first time you put on your camper on the truck, then after that you do not need to adjust any more, just lock down the trigger lever... Very simple, and they also have a lifetime guarantee, and a built in spring for some give. you can add padlocks to them to help deter someone from quickly walking away with them..."
"We went with Fast Guns after doing quite a bit of research and while pricey have found them to be great. Have arthritic wrists and these are no problem. We have put padlocks on also. As we have no local distributors in our area we ordered them directly from Torklift in Kent, WA. Found their customer service people knowledgeable and helpful. (Ordered our tiedowns from them also.)"
"Got them and love them. Just went and worked on the camper and to do the work I had to disconnect the battery and plug to the truck. I took the Fast Guns off very quickly, raised the camper and when I had to plug back in, very little time to do so in putting fast guns back in place. If you need more info or help just give Robin a call at Torklift and she will get you some there ASAP."
"I've got them and they work great. Once you get them dialed in, they are quick to install. All stainless steel and powder coated to look good."
"We decided to get the fast-guns. We like them so much that we painted them RED to blend in with the bed of the truck. I have bolts and locknuts on 3 of them and a padlock on the 1 over the fuel tank. The fast-gun over the fuel door; loosens enough to open the fuel door the whole way, then fill up. I could un-hook it from the camper and lay it down on the ground; but I don't have to. I then marked each 1 on the backside so that we could put them back on where they were taken off. Like another guy said, if they need adjusted a bit, then turn the fast-gun and pull down the lever."
"They work great and over the long haul they are well worth the money. I think the easier things are to use the more you will use them...Go for them -- You won't be sorry."
