Say thank you today

It was 95 years ago today when President Woodrow Wilson said “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…"

Today is Veteran’s Day.

Veteran’s Day was originally called Armistice Day honoring the veterans of World War I, according to VA.org. Years later it was officially changed to Veteran’s Day following the largest mobilization of all armed forces across all military organizations in the aftermath of World War II.

Veteran’s Day represents a day of honor for all veterans of all wars.

Today take a moment and thank our vets and active military personnel. They have seen things many of us never saw in order to protect our home: America.

They are the ones you see wearing the hats that say Air Force, the ones with the tattoos that read what division they served and sometimes they are the ones who carry the permanent wounds of their service. Shake their hand and say thank you today.
