For export market expansion

SUMNER, Wash. (July 11, 2013), — Sumner-based company Torklift International is named 2013 Exporter of the Year by World Trade Center (WTC) Tacoma due to increasing export business.

“Exports for Torklift have risen 22 percent in the past two years,” according to the WTC nomination committee. “The growth of export market has resulted in the company increasing its production team by 15 percent.”

Torklift International receives their award Sept. 19, at the Globe Award banquet in Tacoma, Wash.

“The award is a representation of hard work and dedication of the people within the Torklift organization,” said Torklift International VP of Operations Jack Kay.

The award was bestowed as a result of Torklift’s rapid growth in export markets including Canada, Britain, Sweden, Spain, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Germany, Belgium and most recently, Russia.

“We just set up the largest truck camper dealer as a Torklift dealer in Russia,” added Torklift International General Manager Jay Taylor. “The majority of the truck camper manufacturers that export into those countries also recommend Torklift products.”

The next export market Torklift is moving toward is South America.

In 2013, Torklift is adding six new products to their line, including a variety of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products.

"The World Trade Center Tacoma has developed so many programs to help exporters achieve markets that were previously unattainable," said Taylor. "Their expertise and experience are critical and I would recommend any business use their resources."
