I'm also very happy with how clean the product looks compared to other products that leave a bar showing below the rear of the car. The EcoHitch is very classy looking and I've been really happy with how well the Outback handles pulling a trailer to the dump!
So there was a small gap.
Removed the bumper again, then pressed it firmly over the foam padding and slowly pressed in the clips.
I advise you do it with 2 people and support the bumper from the bottom and gently lift it into each clip.
Went on perfectly and we kept the Foam which i think is important. Gives better support on the top of the bumper and also resistance in the even someone hits the bumper. Just my 2 cents worth, i wish i had read it, would have saved me some stress.
I had the hitch shipped to my freight forwarder and shipped up on the cargo ship. The standard packaging Torklift Central uses is great and survived the rough handling from the forwarder very well. My installation took about 2 and 1/2 hours. I took my time and double checked everything I did. I had to borrow a torque wrench to complete the installation. Having a ratchet set with a long extender makes taking/putting on the bumper plate off much easier. With a bit of pushing the foam pad fits.
