The only gripe/issue I have is the re-installation of the heat shields. You trim several corners off, but you can only use two screws to reattach to the car because the hitch covers the two holes. This leaves the heat shield flopping around. Under heavy acceleration, you can hear the heat shield rattle on the the hitch. Very annoying to say the least!

Regarding your comments on the heat shield, the heat shield is sandwiched between the EcoHitch and the vehicle frame when properly installed. As you stated, minor trimming of the heat shield is required. However, we are not aware of anyone experiencing any rattles. Please contact our text support for further assistance: 800-246-8132
Install tips: I did not jack up the vehicle and had plenty of room to work and felt a lot saver. I hate being under a 3000 lb hunk of steel being held up by a couple of cheap Chinese jack stands. Also I think it's a lot easier to just unbolt and remove the mufflers, a least on a new car that hasn't been baptized in road salt. The hardest part was getting the bumper skin off. There were two 10mm hex head screws under the trunk lid that had to be removed and that were not mentioned in the instructions, but those were pretty obvious. The hard part was getting all the tabs to let go along the top-rear of the skin; took a little prying with a bent screwdriver I keep around for such things and a lot of patience and careful pulling and twisting. Breaking the bumper skin could make for a VERY expensive trailer hitch ;-)
On a side thought, instead of re-using the cover for the hole it would be nice to have a piece that can slide into the hitch and look like the cover piece and be easily removable. I may put something together in CAD and print it out on a 3d printer someday when I have more time.
