Was super easy to install.
We plan to use the hitch for a bike rack and not for pulling a trailer. We completed the install of the 2" EcoHitch on the 2016 Honda HRV pretty much as
documented in the instructions provided. Some of steps were a bit tedious mainly because we did it without the help of a car lift and it is kind of hassle to lay on your back to complete the various steps.
We did jack up the back end slightly to give a little more room to work. I would was glad to get this chore done myself but given the choice would probably prefer to pay an experienced installer to do it for $50-60 rather than do it myself again.
A few notes about the install that might help others. Before starting review and identify all of the parts and understand exactly how all the bolts, nuts, washers go together. It helps to work with a second person especially the step of lifting the hitch and getting it bolted on. I was concerned about having to cut underside of the bumper cover but that was not really a big deal. You can't really see that area when it is all done. For that step I recommend putting masking tape on that area to be cut first so that lines can be easily measured and drawn before cutting. We used mainly a heavy snipper tool to snip out the notch and also a electric dremel tool to finish the cutting of the plastic. We removed 2 screws holding the heat shield as instructed and trimmed the heat shield using the snipper tool and then did put one of the screws back in.
Using the wire bolt fisher is kind of tricky but following directions carefully, it should not be an issue. You must be careful not to stretch the coil part of the fisher tool because you must use it multiple times. Once you have the bolts in place, you do have to be careful not to accidentally push the bolts back up into the frame. Having to deal with that would be a bit of a hassle and delay. Getting the exhaust onto the new bung was not too difficult but getting the exhaust back onto the existing bung on the other side took a little more effort to complete. It is kind of a tight fit in that area but I have found no rattling or issues with the install. One of the first steps was to remove the push pin clips from the rear bumper. When the install was completed, we put the push pin clips back in.
