While that sounds like a fair amount of work, I did it by myself and I'm thrilled with the quality of the hitch, how it attaches to the car, and how it looks all done. I actually found the installation of the wiring harness to be more of a hassle than the hitch. I'm really glad I went with the hitch from Torklift Central.
The whole install took two hours for one person. The instructions/pictures were extremely useful which made the process easy.

We installed the hitch ourselves, and while it took about 3-4 hours, we don't regret doing it ourselves. While most steps can be completed by a single person, there were several steps where it was helpful to have another set of hands. We were a bit apprehensive about cutting into the bumper, but this turned out to be quite easy.
The final product looks fantastic, and we are incredibly pleased with the results. Our previous hitch significantly decreased the ground clearance on our already low Prius, so we were really looking to find something that provided us with all of the benefits of a hitch without decreasing the utility of our vehicle or scraping the hitch against curbs.
We had high expectations for the EcoHitch, and Torklift Central was able to exceed them. Their customer service is outstanding. We are looking forward to taking many trips with our new hitch!
